Housing Allocations Officer

Pertemps are currently recruiting for a Housing Allocations Officer to work within the Public Sector based in Hammersmith, London on a temporary contract to start as soon as possible until August 2019

The purpose of the role is to deputise for the Head of Allocations and Property Solutions as necessary, be responsible for the delivery of the service within budget and produce periodic budget monitoring information as well as working alongside partners including registered providers

In your role as Housing Allocations Officer, your responsibilities will include

• Representing the client and testify in legal hearings, instruct Legal Services in relevant matters, attend conferences, and be responsible for the completion of affidavit evidence
• Deputise in the absence of the Head of Allocations, Home Buy and Property Solutions as required
• Carry out other duties consistent with the job purpose as may arise from time to time
• Manage the notify process and ensure it is updated and effective and that information from the system is fed back to Education, Health and Social Services on a regular basis
• Chair and attend regional meetings as required

Skills & Experience

• A commitment to and understanding of the equal opportunities policy, and the ability to implement the policy in relation to the duties of the post
• The ability to lead and manage a group of staff delivering complex services across a range of disciplines
• An understanding of current trends in housing need and the ability to contribute to strategic and policy development
• A detailed knowledge of housing law relating to, in particular; temporary accommodation, allocations, tenure and the rights of social housing tenants
• Ability to operationalise complex legal, policy, and procedural guidance to ensure effective service delivery
• The ability to communicate and negotiate effectively, in writing or verbally, at a senior level with Members, solicitors, stakeholders and the public
• The ability to work effectively as a member of a team and to work with initiative and minimum supervision as required

Additional Information

• The role of Housing Allocations Officer is a temporary role to start in as soon as possible until August 2019
• The hourly rate on the role is £18.33
• This role will require a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check
• This is a full time role Monday – Friday, 36.00 hours per week
