You have the opportunity to join a leading Midlands based main contractor who are prolific in our home territory and now operating nationwide on various frameworks.
This business, which is a family owned private entity, is now looking to recruit an experienced Contracts Manager to be responsible for D&B schemes up to the value of £5mln in the Education, Student Accommodation and Commercial sectors.
The candidate will take responsibility for approximately 3 or 4 projects and sites at a time, from inception to completion. The Contracts Manager will be expected to manage costs, variations and take control of delegated budgets. The Contracts Manager will also be required to visit each allocated project site at least once a week. Project locations are typically based throughout the Midlands.
The candidate will be frequently liaising with clients and chairing meetings and will provide timely and fitting input to tenders, PQQs and other external facing submissions when requested to do so.
The candidate will also be responsible for the creation of the weekly plans, adherence specifications, programmes of works and participation in the creation of procurement schedules.
As the successful candidate you will have a minimum of 10 years of diverse building experience alongside a proven track record of delivering projects on time and to budget, whilst maintaining a customer focused approach.
It is essential that the candidate is fully aware of Health, Safety and Environmental legislation and its application and also a detailed understanding of construction methods and techniques.
A professional construction management qualification is desirable alongside a membership of an appropriate professional association.
Lastly the candidate should hold high level of IT skills, specifically in the application of project management software and a high level of communication skills.
