Our client is looking to recruit a Warehouse Assistant for their food packing contract within a busy logistics warehouse in Ridgmont, Milton Keynes. The successful candidate will assist the Team Leader with associated paperwork and will have a full understanding of the factors which impact production targets.
The position is Monday to Friday, 6am-2pm. Flexibility is required to work two hours overtime and the occasional weekend days as and when required.
The job role is carried out in a controlled food environment and it is a legal requirement that you always wear the provided mob cap, beard snood (if applicable), white overcoat and shoe protectors and regularly sanitise your hands. You will need to pass a basic food handling test before starting work.
As Warehouse Assistant your duties will include:
" Supporting the Team Leader in their duties and achieving targets
" Ensuring health and safety compliance in a strictly conforming food production environment
" Monitoring the line to ensure each kit has the correct food products added
" Monitoring the storage containers feeding the line to ensure they are filled and with the correct product for each box
" Ensuring the correct operating of the machinery
" Supporting the Team Leader by providing holiday and sickness cover as required
" Achieving the targets and job standards set out by the Team Leader
" Performing any reasonable request from the Contract Manager
The ideal candidate will hold the following skills and attributes:
" Level 2 in Food Hygiene
" Food production background in a warehouse environment
" Basic engineering ability/understanding
" Excellent numeracy and literacy skills
" Ability to work under pressure
" Ability to lead, supervise and work as part of the team
" Good attention to detail
" Being adaptable and flexible in your approach to work
