Sheridan Maine are working with a large, global real estate advisory organisation based in London to recruit an experienced Finance Director. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is looking to join an established and growing organisation where they can make their mark and grow the brand throughout the UK.

My client is seeking a Finance Director for its UK operations, which today comprises a broad spectrum of commercial real estate service offerings conducted in UK, currently 4 offices. This position will report to the UK Managing Director and Global Controller and have further dotted line reporting.

Key duties/responsibilities

• As a true business partner to the UK Managing Director, assess organizational performance against both the annual budget and company's long-term strategy

• Develop confidence with key business leads through value added/ad hoc analysis and ownership of critical projects

• Develop tools and systems to provide critical financial and operational information to the Managing Director and make actionable recommendations on both strategy and operations. This includes:

o Revenue and EBITDA forecasting

o Expense management

o Analysis of Broker salaries, and performance against budget

o Collection of Accounts Receivable

o Review of significant transactions and approval for revenue recognition

• Manage key accounting activities in conjunction with the Global Controller, including

o Oversee preparation of month-end, quarter-end and year-end financial statements

o Lead the annual budget process, review monthly financial results and implement monthly budget to actual variance reporting

o Review all month-end closing activities including general ledger maintenance, balance sheet reconciliations and corporate cost allocations

o Serve as a key point of contact for external auditors; Manage preparation of documentation and support for the external audit

o Oversee tax functions, coordinate activities with outside firms for compliance with statutory reporting requirements

o Assist with due diligence efforts of potential acquisitions and represent the accounting function in acquisition financial analysis and acquisition integration

o Manage the cash flow and prepare cash flow forecasting in accordance with policy

o Critically assess current finance processes, controls and procedures and improve these processes in-line with company growth aspirations

Skills and Qualifications

• CIMA/ACCA/ACA Certification or equivalent professional accounting designation

• Bachelor's degree in finance, business administration, or related field with extensive experience accepted

• Strong communicator with ability to operate across various organizational disciplines and geographies

• Qualified accountant with minimum of 7-10 years post qualification experience

• Experience in a public accounting / auditing firm and interfacing with auditors and tax advisors is desirable

• Proven initiator, innovator and influencer who can drive change, improve processes and control enhancements, and provide sound solutions to complex and routine business issues

• Collaborative and accessible manager with a successful track record of developing, mentoring and motivating top performing teams

• Proficient use of personal computer; knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
