Our client is looking to recruit an Assistant Team Leader for a food production environment within a busy logistics warehouse in Ridgmont, Milton Keynes.
The shift pattern is Monday to Wednesday 2pm-10pm and Thursday and Friday, 8am-4pm. Flexibility is required to work two hours overtime and the occasional Saturdays as and when required.
The job role is carried out in a controlled food environment and it is a legal requirement that you always wear the provided mob cap, beard snood (if applicable), white overcoat and shoe protectors and regularly sanitise your hands. You will need to pass a basic food handling test before starting work.
As Assistant Team Leader your duties will include:
Supervising a team of 5 Line Operatives to ensure the work is completed in a timely and effective manner
Supporting the Team Leader in their duties and achieving targets
Working in a strictly conforming food production environment
Monitoring the line to ensure each kit has the correct food products added
Monitoring the storage containers feeding the line to ensure they are filled and with the correct product for each box
Ensure the correct operating of the machinery
Adhering to the Food Safety policies
Supporting the Team Leader by providing holiday and sickness cover as required
Maintaining high levels of Health and Safety
Achieving the targets and job standards set out by the Production Team Leader
Being adaptable and flexible in your approach to work
Performing any reasonable request from the Contract Manager
The ideal candidate will hold the following skills and attributes:
Level 2 in Food Hygiene
Food production background in a warehouse environment
Basic engineering ability/understanding
Excellent numeracy and literacy skills
Ability to work under pressure
Ability to lead, supervise and work as part of the team
Good attention to detail
This industrial site has limited access by public transport so own transport is essential.
