A multi-national company offering supply chain solutions to sectors of automotive, aerospace, retail, healthcare, technology and food industries, requires experienced Class II / 18t / LGV C Drivers. Working with the Transport department you will be responsible for ensuring that all daily deliveries and collections are made in a timely manner.
Working as part of a friendly team on their Marston Gate site on the outskirts of Milton Keynes, the 18t Driver opportunity is available immediately on a 16 week temporary to permanent basis. Adhoc days are available if preferred. The package includes a generous holiday allowance and the benefit of on-site parking and security.
You will be required to work a minimum of forty hours per week, Monday to Friday, plus overtime where required to complete your route. PAYE drivers will be paid £10 per hour for the initial 12 weeks, increasing thereafter. For LTD Drivers the pay is £11 per hour.
As the Class II / 18t / LGV C Driver your duties will include:
12-14 drops per day of white goods; some collections
Unloading and loading of white goods using a sack barrow
Destacking and restacking white goods throughout the day
Moving the load in the lorry if an item is refused and/or working around these items
Manual handling, including lifting
Operating and being accountable for the handheld device used daily to record fuel, deliveries times and delivery notes
Being responsible for safely driving Class II vehicles to client locations, including routes in London
Adhering to road traffic regulations to ensure avoidance of driving infringements
Having your digicard checked daily
Providing the DVLA code with every Monday for your licence to be checked
Delivering excellent customer service
Reporting any defects on your vehicle, checking before and after your shift
Keeping your vehicle tidy
Adhering to Health and Safety regulations
Driving in adherence to the Highway Code
For insurance compliance, the Class II / 18t / LGV C Driver will need the following:
Valid Class II / HGV II / LGV C / 18t licence held for a minimum of two years
Must be 23 years old and over
No DD, DR or CU endorsements
No more than 6 speeding points
Minimum 12 months recent experience in the UK
