We are currently recruiting for an experienced Overhead Crane Operator / Assembly Operative to join a well-established manufacturing business based in Salford Priors, near Evesham.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience operating overhead cranes and carrying out mechanical assembly work within a manufacturing or engineering environment. The successful candidate will support both production and assembly operations, ensuring components and materials are moved safely and assembled to a high standard.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operating overhead cranes to safely move materials, components, and finished products throughout the facility
    • Assisting with the assembly of mechanical components and sub-assemblies using hand and power tools
    • Reading and following engineering drawings, assembly instructions, and work orders
    • Loading and unloading deliveries and transporting materials to production areas
    • Supporting production teams with the safe movement of large and heavy components
    • Carrying out quality checks and reporting any defects or issues
    • Performing daily equipment checks and reporting maintenance requirements
    • Assisting with general warehouse, production, and assembly duties as required
    • Maintaining a clean, organised, and safe working environment
    • Following all company procedures and Health & Safety regulations

Requirements
  • Previous experience operating an Overhead Crane within a manufacturing, engineering, or industrial environment
    • Previous assembly, mechanical fitting, or production experience
    • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings would be advantageous
    • Confident using hand and power tools
    • Strong awareness of Health & Safety procedures
    • Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently or as part of a team
    • Full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle are essential due to the location
    • Valid Overhead Crane certification is preferred but not essential if sufficient experience can be demonstrated
    • FLT Counterbalance licence would be advantageous
