Network Healthcare is currently recruiting for an exciting opportunity for a Support Worker to work on a full time, permanent basis with a family based in Berkshire supporting a child who has Down Syndrome and a slight hearing impairment.

We are seeking a caring and motivated Support Worker who has experience of working with Special Needs children and is confident working on a one to one basis.

The position is Monday-Friday for 6-7 hours per day (afternoons into the evening) and may involve working the occasional weekend. Flexibility is essential, particularly during school holidays. The post will involve undertaking activities with the young person, collecting them from school, helping out the family in general with day to day houseful tasks, escorting the young person to appointments and local activities, undertaking personal care. We are also recruiting to a weekend only position, Saturday and Sundays 10am-5pm.

In order to be considered for this position candidates must:

Have at least 1 years' experience working with children with Special Needs
Hold a full driving licence (a car will be provided for use at work)
An NVQ in Childcare or Health and Social Care
Knowledge of Makaton is essential but not desirable.
