Pertemps Kettering are currently recruiting for a warehouse team leader this is an exciting opportunity to be part of a motivated, energetic team driving the online business forwards.

Co-ordinate the warehouse area and team through the agreed competencies and ensure each team member achieve the company standard for each key task and responsibility
Ensure that the team adopts a professional, pro-active and courteous approach to colleagues, internal departments, customers and third parties
Ensure a safe working environment, by regularly checking that pallets are located securely and no obstructions in aisles, walkways and tank & yard areas
Ensure all agreed procedures relating to the operational area are followed
Communicate with the team through regular briefings, to enable the sharing of company information. Creating a team environment and value through effective communication, motivation, equality and encouragement
Establish a good working relationship with internal departments, customers and suppliers
Ensure shift handover is always completed and any issues highlighted
Ensure that order picking is carried out in a safe manner
Safe loading / unloading vehicles
Carry out fork lift truck activities around the warehouse & yard areas
Carry out monthly stock checks
To work extended hours, long days and weekends when required
To ensure the team understand the nature and hazards in the handling and carriage of bulk liquids
To understand the principles of risk assessment and the ability to apply those principles
Follow company procedures in regards to manual handling equipment checks
Maintain processes around segregation & compatibility
Maintain a clean & tidy warehouse at all times
Manage the process for IBC cleaning
Conduct regular competency based performance reviews with all direct reports
Manage the receipt process for receiving bulk lubricants into the internal tank farm ensuring that strict quality processes are adhered to
Carry out oil sampling processes
Manage bulk to IBC filling processes
Ensure vehicle loads are picked, checked & safely loaded in line with daily demand
Maintain any relevant Health and Safety and Environmental Policies
Carry out daily depot walk around inspections
Log depot incidents on the Well Worker system
Carry out weekly racking inspections & report any defects
Carry out daily FLT checks & report any defects
Carry out daily / weekly equipment checks & report any defects
To understand and complete company documentation in the manner required
To ensure warehouse records are completed correctly and professionally
To carry all required and relevant paperwork, documentation at all times

The ideal candidate will have the following:

Valid counterbalance FLT licence
Valid Reach / Flexi FLT licence
Experience of stock management processes
Good understanding of computer systems
Good attention to detail
Ability to make decisions & use own initiative; working to tight deadlines under pressure
Previous experience of managing people in a commercial or distribution environment
Excellent planning & organisational skills
Ability to coach & develop team members & provide encouragement & support
The working hours are Monday - Thursday 8.30-5.00.
