What is the purpose of this role?
Our client is currently seeking a specialist a Regulatory Project Coordinator; working for the UK's largest water and Wastewater Company on a 6 month temporary basis.

This 6 month contract role is to ensure departments within the division understand and meet certain requirements set out by our Regulators.
It will be your responsibility to ensure we report data accurately and consistently in line with the regulations. You will also help identify risks to the business, and to protect the level of service delivered to our customers.
There new Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) coming into force this year, and a large proportion of your role will be to ensure our business is ready for the new changes.
Not only will you work for one of the UKs largest Utility companies you will also have the opportunity to view the business from a completely different perspective. You will learn to understand regulations, and appreciate why things are done in certain ways, but equally this role is not about applying the 'Red tape', we encourage you to push the boundaries, challenge for continuous improvement every time.
This contract role is extremely varied where no day is the same. Within this role you will advocate the importance of compliance to a variety of stakeholders around the business.
This 6 month contract role is based in our client's Reading head office with regular travel to different sites; paying up to £35k.
You will respond to internal customer requests in connection with the Data Protection Act, to driving process improvements and completing risk-based audits; No two days will be the same.
However, your remit will not just stop there. A role in the team will bring all sorts of unexpected challenges and projects.
Risk Management will need to always be on the forefront of your mind. You will juggle multiple tasks and use your judgement to manage work that could have the biggest impact to our customers and our business.
You will have the flexibility to learn, grow and develop new skills. You will be encouraged to get involved in whatever you feel is the right solution to improve our business, and ultimately to improve customer satisfaction.
Key activities of the Regulatory Compliance Controller will require you to:
Provide regulatory guidance and advice.
Own the resolution of compliance risks and action plans.
Carry out risk-based audits and produce reports on findings.
Own project plans to support new legislative requirements.
Support and produce governance documentation.
Implement local business improvements.
Produce performance reports.
Support the Compliance Manager to deliver wider team objectives.
What skills are we looking for?
Due to the nature of this role, you will need to hold a great deal of integrity and discretion in everything you do.
We are seeking a driven individual with the ability to manage conflicting work streams, and with a background in data protection, compliance, fraud or similar regulated industry.
You should have an inquisitive mind in order to question why things are done certain ways and be able to identify potential risks that may not be obvious from statistical reports. You will be required to influence stakeholders, so having excellent communication skills is essential. You'll need to have the ability to articulate audit findings in an impartial meaningful way, highlighting the materiality of the impact if no improvement is made.

Understanding of company processes, policies and procedures including regulatory requirements would be advantageous.
Experience of corporate systems such as SAP CRM, IBM CIS/Merlin and Vistec will also be advantageous. Use of Microsoft Packages such as, Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Outlook are essential.
A valid UK Driving licence (with business insurance) is required as you will be visiting various company and client sites
