Learning Support Assistant required to work on a 1-2-1 basis with a female student that is no longer in mainstream education. We are looking for a Learning Support Assistant that has experience working with Key Stage 3 & 4 students with challenging behaviour. You will be providing academic and social support to this young person within an Alternative Provision setting. This is an opportunity to mentor and support a child that has become disengaged with education.
This fantastic Alternative provision provides young people with a second chance at education and is an excellent setting got a Learning Support Assistant that has the desire to make a difference. There is plenty of opportunity to be creative and think outside the box with this role.
- Working on a 1-2-1 basis with KS3 or KS4 students
- Making learning fun for disengaged students
- Providing support to teaching staff when needed
- Building rapport and trust with students
- Leading on fun classroom activities
Ideally, you will:
- Have experience working as a LSA or Teaching Assistant
- Have worked with challenging behaviour
- Be able to break down barriers to communication
- Have a calm, patient and positive approach
- Be able to challenge students when required
