Pertemps Medical are pleased to offer this exciting opportunity for a Specialty Doctor in a private hospital ward based in the Midlands covering Eating Disorders. The hospital has an excellent reputation for providing the highest standards of care while the role itself is based in a private ward that cares for the working age population who have severe and critical needs. The Eating Disorder Unit offers specialist therapy programmes which work in conjunction with the individual to tailor care for each patient.

Responsibilities of the role include:

  • Undertaking psychiatric and external assessments for clients referred to the unit to determine the appropriate level of care to be provided, under the direction and supervision of the Consultant, and work with the multi-disciplinary team
  • Prepare discharge summaries, reports etc
  • Participation in learning activities and supervision, Clinical Governance, Continuing Professional Development
  • Supporting the RMO and GPs in delivering a consistently high standard of medical care to all patients on site.
Applicants should possess an MBBS qualification or equivalent, Full GMC registration, are able to demonstrate evidence of foundation training and competencies (or equivalent) including experience of working within psychiatry. Experience of working within an acute setting and as part of a multi-disciplinary team would be advantageous.
