An opportunity has arisen with our client, a well established forward thinking engineering and surveying firm, for a Building Surveyor to join their team in Surrey.

The company began in 1990 as a partnership between 2 chartered engineers, and has grown to develop a surveying side – creating a useful hybrid of technical skills. They currently provide building construction services, civil & structural engineering services and building surveying services.

Our client provides the following building surveying services, across social housing (70%) leisure, commercial, heritage and industrial properties:

- Architectural design services for alterations, refurbishment and new-build projects
- Coordinated project management and contract administration services
- Planning consultancy and statutory approvals
- Listed buildings, heritage and conservation
- Building surveys and reporting
- Party Wall surveyor services
- Defect investigations, diagnosis and repair
- Expert witness services
- Fire risk assessments
- Leasehold, landlord and tenant consultancy services
- Condition surveys and planned maintenance strategies
- Disrepair claim management services
- Consultancy support services for registered social landlords
- Insurance claim management
- Due diligence and compliance assessments
- Energy rating services for existing and new-build residential/non residential property
- CDM Co-ordinator services
- Drafting services

Our client is looking to recruit an experienced building surveyor capable with getting involved in all aspects of the business, but more notably:

- Contract administration – specification writing, maintenance projects (project value up to £5million)
- Defect investigations, diagnosis and repair
- Fire risk assessments
- Building surveys and report writing
- CDM coordinator
- Quality assurance
- Advising and managing the junior staff

Building surveyor requirements:

- Experience with the services listed above (social housing experience useful)
- Proven track record of running projects
- Building surveying degree (BSc/MSc/Pgdip)
- Friendly, professional and proactive attitude

Our client are looking to pay a competitive rate of £35,000 for the ideal building surveyor, dependent on experience
