Management Accountant CIPFANetwork Public Sector have been retained to provide recruitment services in connection with their requirement for a Management Accountant.Job summaryAssist the Head of Finance in providing a high quality service and build effective relationships across the organisation. Be able to use specialist financial skills and expertise to provide support, advice and robust, but constructive, challenge to ensure the effective operation of LeO's systems of financial and budgetary control. In addition be responsible for day to day financial transaction processing, routine financial reporting to budget holders and stakeholders, the production of the monthly finance and KPI pack with supporting commentary.This post will assist with updating the quarterly financial forecasts, the production of annual budgets and provide information and support for external and internal audits of the function.You will assist with the line management of two Finance Support Officers and ensure that the Finance team achieve their objectives to deliver an effective service to the rest of the organisation and its customers.Key responsibilitiesFinancial systems maintenanceMaintenance of the Accounting System (Sage 200), month end routines and system integrity checks.Maintenance and development of the billing system, month end routines.Effective, accurate and timely processing of transactions and payments:Purchase Orders,Purchase invoice entry, authorisation and payment,Case fee Invoices, and credit control.Nominal Ledger Journals and transactions, accruals. Prepayments, provisions.Maintenance and ongoing development of a strong and effective financial control environment including performance and/or review and approval of Balance sheet reconciliations.Assisting with line management, coaching and development of Finance Support OfficersFinancial business partnering with non financial individualsBuild and manage effective relationships across the organisation through monthly budget meetings with budget holders. To feedback on costs and variances against plan and budget and to obtain information required to update financial forecasts.Statutory reporting for the annual financial statements and associated disclosure notesSupporting with external and internal audits of financial statements and controls.Production of monthly management accounts, OLC board finance & KPI pack, and associated commentary and variance analysis.Submission of monthly and quarterly financial returns to stakeholders as required.Financial planning: Undertaking the annual budgeting cycle and Quarterly re-forecasting cycle with the Head of Finance.Participate as requested in projects or groups, including identifying and working to improve the service to increase effectiveness.Assistance with all procurement throughout the organisationMain working relationships:
