Part of a major international group, this organisation is setting up a new manufacturing facility on a  'green field site' to produce complex high value components for the automotive industry. As a Lean Manufacturing / Operational Excellence Manager your role will be to establish best practice manufacturing processes and methodology to ensure world class productivity and competitiveness can be achieved within a brand new production facility.

Position:  WCM Lean Manufacturing / Operational Excellence Manager
Salary:  to £50000
Location:  Shropshire

Main duties and responsibilities:
o Implement World Class Manufacturing methods and processes across the site
o Develop efficient factory layout and support equipment layout to optimise production flow and minimise unnecessary movement via promotion of Lean Manufacturing methods
o Support equipment project timelines and manage on time delivery and buy off
o Value Stream Mapping (VSM)
o Lead and participate in Six Sigma and Continuous Improvement activity

Knowledge and Education
You will already have a proven track record working as a Manufacturing Continuous Improvement, Lean Manufacturing or delivering Operational Excellence/ WCM within a high volume manufacturing facility
o HND/Degree in an Engineering related subject
o Six Sigma Certification highly desirable
o Experience in leading the VA/VE process
o In-depth understanding of Lean Manufacturing methodologies and how to apply them in practice
o Knowledge of complex product assembly, machining, casting or presswork production processes and related capital machinery
