On behalf of my client, we are seeking a team of Mechanical CAD Design Engineers to deliver a major engineering project, who will work independently using advanced communication techniques.
Position: CAD Design Engineers (Solid Edge)
Location: UK Home based (with monthly meetings in the Midlands)
Duration: 6 months
Pay rate: £25- 27 per hour (Ltd Co)
As CAD Design Engineer, you will use Solid Edge to produce 3D CAD models and 2D manufacturing drawings to meet the clients brief. You will be designing bespoke products for a complex vehicle programme. In addition to CAD modelling you will also be required to produce 2D manufacturing drawings, compile BoM and manage engineering change requests.

To be successful in this role for CAD Engineer, you will need the following skills and experience:-
o 3D modelling using Solid Edge
o 2D detail drawing using Solid Edge
o Interpret customers specifications and produce robust design solutions giving consideration to DFM/ DFA principals.
o Able to work independently without direct supervision
o Very hands on-working fast to tight deadlines on multiple projects
o Previous experience of working within any of the following industries will be of interest; aerospace, aircraft interiors, automotive, rail, medical devices, capital machinery, general manufacturing.
o A broad knowledge of various manufacturing processes is required including metal fabrication, casting, machined parts, plastic moulding; welding/ assembly techniques.
o HNC/ Degree level education in Mechanical Engineering or similar technical discipline.
o You DO NOT need a current Solid Edge CAD license, but you will need PC hardware, an effective Broadband internet connection and reasonable facilities to work from home.
This is an excellent opportunity for experienced Designer Engineers to work from the comfort of your own home saving you commuting time and associated travel costs. There will be an initial kick off session in the Midlands and you will be expected to work 40 hours per week typically, but you will have some flexibility with working hours as long as project objectives are met.
