We are currently looking to recruit a Stock and Accounts Payable Accountant to join a forward thinking Finance Team within a global company. We are looking for an Accountant who will ensure stock and supplier invoices correctly processed and accounted for in a timely manner, compliant with Company policy and regulations. This role will report to the Finance Manager and will include managing the AP and Import team as well as working alongside Accounts Payable and Credit Control. There will also be liaison with the Management Reporting/ Analysis team.

The Key duties of the role will include:
Direct stock and AP operations to include liaison with warehouse and buyers to enable accurate reporting and price of the company stick position and payment to suppliers.
Assist in establishing and implementing inventory policies and procedures
Prepare and distribute daily, weekly, monthly and ad-hoc stock levels and consumption reports to all the relevant departments
Ensuring that goods received by warehouse are matched with the actual invoices from the suppliers and discrepancies identified and resolved
Coordinate with warehouse team to implement and ensure control system to reduce damage, breakage and inventory obsolescence
Full cycle A/P, matching, vouchering and GL coding, ensuring costing is correctly calculated and processed
Balance sheet account responsibility for stock including import ledgers for tax, ensuring finished foods and cost of sales is accurate
Make payments in accordance with company guidelines in accurate and timely manner
Reconcile and report at month end, providing supporting information and clarification as needed accurately and timely as required by the business
Carry out journal processing to complete any postings, exchange rates per company policy
Manage three AP and Import Assistants
Communicate and liaise with internal and external stakeholders as needed to achieve job, team, department and business objectives
Assist colleagues in other areas of Finance as required to promote team-work and ensure peak periods are managed effectively within the Department
Carry out any other Finance task not unreasonably requested

Essential requirements:
2 years + experience in Finance or Accounting with a strong background in AP
Stock reconciliation experience within the retail business
Knowledge of financial statements and financial statement analysis, including an ability case flow and the impact on the financial statements
Strong oral and written communication skills along with the ability to communicate and negotiate with a variety of internal and external stakeholders
Managerial, planning, organisational, decision - making, interpersonal analytical, problem solving and lateral thinking skills
Working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint
Team player
Ability to thrive in a busy environment and handle stressful situations calmly and professionally
Ability to organise own workload and meet deadlines and targets, whilst maintaining high levels of organisation as well as accommodating multiple tasks
