Communications Coordinator
Houghton le Spring
37 hour week (over five days) with core hours between 8am and 6pm
£7.97 rising to £8.51per hour, Maternity Cover

Role Overview
Working for an electricity distribution company based in Houghton le Spring.
The communications co-ordinator is an integral member of the team, helping facilitate the implementation of our proactive social media activity, to ensure the business is accessible, responsive and transparent. The communications co-ordinator will also support the communications priorities and activities of the department, and the business, including the provision of administration support to the team.

Key Responsibilities
" Help provide a day to day social media presence.
" Maintain an effective schedule of social media activity ensuring all key dates are programmed on social media channels by the organisation.
" Work with communications manager to explore new ways to engage existing followers and encourage new followers on the company's social media channels.
" Support the communications manager and stakeholder engagement manager, to deliver annual social media training event.
" Support the implementation of the social media strategy, working with the contact centre and the strategic relations advisors and managers in their messaging.
" Work with the business and communications manager to develop live Twitter engagement sessions.
" Measure the activity of social media for overall reporting. Measure the impact and effectiveness where possible.
" Monitor, 'listen' and respond to stakeholder chatter on social media channels using the company's chosen social media content management system.
" Support colleagues in the administration of the website.
" Monitor social media channels of key stakeholders and flag any potential negative tone of messaging to the lead communicators to help inform our response.
" Provide administrative support.
" Provide cover and assistance to the communications team to ensure that the daily requirements are met, ensuring that e-mails are responded to on the same working day.
" Support Communications team/Communications Advisor with the production of two set staff briefs (Tuesdays and Fridays) (on a rota basis). Support the management of the idea's board, keeping routine checks for new postings and placing responses
" Support all areas of the communications and wider strategic relations team as required.

Essential Qualifications or experience

" In depth knowledge of social media channels
" At least one year experience of planning social media content for an organisation
" At least one year experience of writing social media content
" At least one year experience of publishing social media content

" Worked with Hootsuite or similar social media platforms
" Organised & efficient
" Proficient at writing 'for social media'
" Effective communicator
" Ability to plan sharp and innovative messaging
