Job Title: Case Worker
Location: Thetford, Norfolk
Salary: £18,000 - £22,000
Our client based in Thetford is seeking a Case Worker to work within the Court of Protection Team. You will work as part of a pod team to service the needs of a group of clients and will be responsible for a number of your own cases whilst also providing support to the Senior Relationship Manager.
Your main role will be to provide support in the management of the clients finances, and the associated work emanating from this. You will help to build good working relationships with Clients, their families and other professionals involved in supporting them. You will need to take a broad overview of a clients circumstances, to ensure long-term financial security and that the best interests of the client are met, managing crises and providing advice and solutions.
The Case Worker is responsible for ensuring that their Clients finds are appropriately managed, including ensuring that sufficient monies are available, within the correct accounts, to meet on going needs and expenditure. Accountability for Client finances, for their own clients, rests solely with the case worker, and not other members of the team.
Manage relationship with clients, their families and other professionals and agencies, such as Case Managers, Social Services and Care in the Community either directly.
Must be able to work in a team based environment, sharing work loads, delegating tasks, providing constructive feedback to team members in order to enhance the client service.
Ensuring that all files are compliant with the firms policies in respect if conflict checking, money laundering, risk and compliance matters, and in relation to the teams policies, and ensuring that files are kept up to date and maintained in accordance with the requirements of the Law Society.
Ensure that all work undertaken, including letters and all communications regarding clients, is correctly documented, time-recorded ( in accordance with time-recording policy ) and that related time and financial cost targets are met.
The ideal candidate will have a competent telephone manner and possess good communication skills, both written and verbal.
You should be a strong team player and be emotionally resilient and intelligent, with excellent attention to detail. You must also learn an understanding of the requirements of the Court of Protection and ensure compliance.
