BEHAVIOUR LEARNING SUPPORT OR TEACHING ASSISTANT - SAFFRON WALDEN & HAVERHILL SUFFOLK

The Education Network is looking for Teaching Assistant's with experience of working with Secondary or Primary aged students, you will need to be experienced in handling challenging students with experience in any of the following Behaviour, Emotional and Social Difficulties (BESD), Social, Emotional & Mental Health (SEMH) or Autistic Spectrum Condition (ASC).

LOCATION - Saffron Walden & Haverhill
SALARY -£14,625 - £17,550
Contracts- £70.00 - £80.00 per day for long term supply.
KEY STAGES - Key Stage 2, Key Stage 3, Key Stage 4 or Key Stage 5 (KS2, KS3, KS4, KS5)
CONTRACT TYPE - Ongoing Learning Support Mentor or Teaching Assistant

OUR CLIENTS - BESD/SEMH/ASC SPECIAL SCHOOL - SAFFRON WALDEN & HAVERHILL
We work with a number of SEND schools including Pupil referral units (PRU's) and Independent Alternative Educational Provisions. We can offer you Contracts, Long Term Supply and Permanent positions. We have immediate starts and have both full and part time SEND positions available.
Our schools cater for young people who are facing difficulties in accessing education, most operate on tailored, bespoke timetables that allow individual students to flourish, achieve and develop. The aim is to engage students in the learning experience; to identify in them a desire to learn and creating lifelong learners with the skills needed to live successful and fulfilling lives.

THE ROLE - SEN LEARNING SUPPORT MENTOR OR TEACHING ASSISTANT
This is a great opportunity to contribute to the lives of students with Behavioural, Emotional or Social Difficulties (BESD), Autism (ASD), Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD) and school refusers. You will be working with very small groups helping the students to gain confidence to re integrate back into mainstream. You will give appropriate feedback and maintain records of pupils' progress and development, prepare pupils for qualifications and external examinations.

SEND LEARNING SUPPORT MENTOR OR TEACHING ASSISTANT SPECIFICATION - SAFFRON WALDEN & HAVERHILL
You will need to be an experienced Teaching Assistant or Learning Support Mentor who has experience of working with students in Key Stage 2 (KS2), Key Stage 3 (KS3) or Key Stage 4 (KS4).
You must be able to remain calm when the need arises and have excellent negotiation skills.
You will need to be resilient and have strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships quickly with students and their families. The ability to recognise that not all young people can cope with the stress associated with attending school and the ability to motivate and inspire reluctant and struggling students is essential. Experience of differentiating work and alternative education programmes using students interest's to build innovative and creative lesson is essential.
