Due to the expansion of a Primary provision in a specialist school for students with SEMH, ASC and ADHD our client is looking for a Qualified Teacher to teach in a small nurture group of KS2 students, you will be working in a class with no more than 6 students and you will have support from experienced teaching assistants.

START DATE - Immediate start
LOCATION - Witham Essex
SALARY -£26,325 - £31,200 Per annum
Contracts. £135.00 - £160.00 per day for long term supply.
KEY STAGES - Key Stage 2
CONTRACT TYPE - Ongoing contract, possibly Temp to Perm

Our client is based in Essex and is a SEMH special school (SEND) with a nurture unit for Key Stage 2 students, you will be working with young people who are facing difficulties in accessing education. The school works in partnership with a wide range of agencies to provide high quality provision for children and young people with Behaviour, Emotional and Social Difficulties (BESD) and Autistic Spectrum Condition in Essex.

This is a great opportunity to contribute to the lives of KS2 children with high functioning Autism/Asperger's/SEMH and ADHD. You will be expected to give appropriate feedback and maintain records of pupils' progress and development. Prepare pupils for qualifications and external examinations. Manage pupils behaviour in the classroom and on school premises, and apply appropriate and effective measures in cases of misbehaviour. You will be liaising with other professionals, such as careers advisers, educational psychologists and education welfare officers.

You will need to be an experienced qualified teacher that holds qualified teacher status (QTS) or qualified teacher learning and skills (QTLS) who has experience of working with primary aged students who are on the Autistic Spectrum /Behavioural, Emotional or Social Difficulties (BESD) or ADHD.
You must be able to remain calm when the need arises and have excellent negotiation skills.
You will need to have strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships quickly with students and their families and have previous experience of working with this client base is essential. You will have the ability to motivate and inspire reluctant, struggling and challenging students coupled with the ability to differentiate work and use students interest's to build innovative and creative lesson.
