Insurance Learning and Development Manager Technical


Up to 80k bonus

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an accomplished Learning and Development Manager to join a market leading, global insurance firm based in London City Centre. With operations in over 30 countries, this leading Insurance company defined by its extensive product and service offerings, provides commercial and personal insurance to a diverse group of clients.

Working closely with the wider Learning and Development and Talent team, you will be responsible for designing and delivering training material across the EMEA region to an employee base of c.1000. You will have broad responsibility for the learning strategy to support the technical development of underwriters and claims employees in the region. Talent development, Management Development and Early Career development across your business unit and be responsible for providing a full and comprehensive technical Learning and Development strategy

Key responsibilities:

Consults with and influences key stakeholders in business units regarding the global Learning and Development agenda, including local Learning and Development deliverables, relevancy and impact in partnership with the regional Talent Lead.

Analyzes existing business function strategies, plans, priorities, and staffing trends to determine potential technical learning and development impacts.

Conducts learning needs assessment with key business leaders and prioritizes the needs with regional leadership in partnership with the regional Talent Lead.

Develops learning strategies and plans to support regional needs balanced with the enterprise goal of globally consistent learning experiences; works with Technical Centre of Expertise on resource needs in development of plans. Works with SMEs (subject matter experts) on the development of content to support learning solutions.

Responsible for identifying the appropriate learning solutions, providing thought leadership based on current learning theories and principals, and influencing key stakeholders regarding practical and relevant solution to meet the needs

Drives prioritization process for all solutions in consultation with CoE and Global Talent Management.

Collaborates and consults with the Curriculum Design team in the Technical CoE.

Coordinates classroom training and manages associated logistics.

Responsible for supplementing and executing new hire curriculum with any region specific training.

Defines measures of performance and uses consistent methods and metrics to measure the effectiveness of learning solutions provided.

Acts as an integral part of the regional and global Learning and Development teams.

Coordinates with 3rd party vendors/consultants on design and delivery requirement, where needed.

In order to be considered for this opportunity you must:

Demonstrated Learning and Development functional expertise understanding of instructional design, adult learning and measurement theories, and alternative delivery methods (i.e. blended learning solutions)
