A new exciting opportunity for a Family Service Manager is available within Swindon Children's Services Early Help Service to lead and develop a newly forming team. Swindon is an innovative place to work, providing both challenges and opportunities for working in Children's Service.
The new Family Service provides early help to the most vulnerable children, young people and their families to prevent the escalation to statutory social care services. The Service uses a whole family approach, assertive outreach, assessments and plans and intelligent mapping to target appropriate supporting resources. As the service develops the primary source of work will be through the Family Contact Point/MASH and also through families identified by Social Care Teams/Health Professionals and agreed to be supported by the Service.
You will be responsible for the operational and developmental management of the service to ensure high quality outcomes for children. This will involve leading, managing and motivating staff; provision of key management information; performance management and reporting. In addition, you will be responsible for managing the delivery of the Troubled Families Programme and contributing to the strategic development of Children & Families through taking lead responsibility for specific areas of work.
Successful applicants will be able to demonstrate solid management experience with a strong focus on people skills; have a strong commitment to achieving high quality outcomes for children; have a good working knowledge of social care thresholds; be able to evidence creative approaches to developing and implementing solutions and have previous experience of operating in a multi-disciplinary context.
