An exciting opportunity has arisen for an aerospace standards welder to work for a leading aerospace company based in North Nottingham. This is an ongoing position which could lead to a permanent role of the right candidate.
As a welder you will utilise your self-motivation and learn / adapt to new skills and tasks quickly. In this role, you will have the opportunity to interpret manufacturing instructions and drawings whilst working safely within a team based environment.
The successful candidate will have experience in welding thin gauge material (5mm up to 2mm). Must be able to weld different types of materials such as; Stainless steel, Titanium, Inconel, Nimonic, Aluminium. Experience in aerospace welding is vital as components need to pass X-ray and be fit to fly.
" Finish polishing & dressing applications using manual & power tools.
" Welding equipment basic maintenance.
" Housekeeping & 5S.
" Process inspection (Operator Certification) & documentation.
" Champions role responsibility (Health & Safety, 5S, Process compliance).
" Working to established Standard Operating Procedures.
Qualifications and experience:
" Hold a recognised time-served apprenticeship including City and Guilds, NVQ3 or equivalent.
" Must have aerospace experience
" Must be able to demonstrate experience and ability to interpret engineering drawings.
" Have a professional and flexible attitude with the ability to communicate clearly and effectively at all levels.
" Be self-motivated with the ability to work on your own initiative or as part of a team.
" It is essential that you have an up-to-date working knowledge of health, safety (including COSHH) and environmental procedures.
