Job Details

We are currently recruiting for Extrusion Operator for our Kettering client.

Personal:
Work with attention to detail: produces work that is accurate and does not require any changes.
Able to set up dies, extrusion machines and auxiliary equipment.
Observe machine operation to detect profile defects or machine malfunction and readjust operating conditions.
Conduct quality checks by measuring product dimensions to determine accuracy of machine operation.
Fill hopper, and perform minor machine maintenance such as lubrication, filter change and cleaning dies.
Accurately count and report production at end of shift.
Perform duties in safe and responsible manner.
Attend all training as scheduled, and follow guidelines, rules, procedures and programs as trained.
Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
All other tasks assigned by your Supervisor.

Knowledge and Skill:
Ability to use a tape measure accurately and do basic math skills
Ability to convert fractions to decimals.
Ability to read written instructions, production reports and common statistical data.
Comfortable with operating machinery.

Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on an occasional basis.
Ability to stand for up to 12 hours per day.
Ability to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl and climb.
Ability to handle and manipulate tools and/or controls.
Ability to work in varying internal temperatures,

General
To monitor and operate the extrusion machines.
Ensure the production sheets are filled out correctly, accurately and to best knowledge.
Ensure quality control is maintained throughout the shift and all QC paperwork is filled out correctly.
To follow all health and safety procedures as set out in the health and safety manual.
To ensure you wear correct PPE for shift.
To follow all company policy rules included within the Extrusion Operator Manual.
Ensure that you inform management of any problems including staff issues.
Ensure that you comply with designated break times.

Specific Tasks to include:
You must operate the extrusion machines to the best of your ability at all times.
Attend any training provided to you whether individually or collectively.
Ensure that all rolls are made to required specification.
You should make your best efforts to ensure all film produced is to the quality and specification stated on the works orders.
You should ensure samples are taken and that QC tests are undertaken as instructed,
You should keep scrap to a minimum and make every effort to avoid unnecessary scrap levels.
To report any maintenance issues promptly and fill out the maintenance request log.
To ensure that any procedural requests are carried out timely and accurately particularly in relation to quality control processes.
You must participate and ensure a smooth handover ensuring a smooth handover of day shift/night shift.
Ensure all reels are banded correctly and labelled correctly and clearly.
Ensure that all bins are filled before the end of the shift and that solvent and ink are fully stocked on the floor.
Ensuring the work area is tidy and kept in a professional manner.

Rate of pay: £7.75

Hours: 12 hours 4 on 4 off rotating nights and days, overtime paid after 42 hours, temporary to permanent for suitable candidates
