What is the purpose of this role?
We are currently looking for an M&E Technician for the UK's largest water and Sewerage Company on either a permanent basis or temp to perm.
The purpose of this role will be to inspect and maintain approx. 200 Pumping Stations across your geographical area. This will include fault diagnoses, testing, installing, modifying or repairing electrical equipment including pumps, motors and panels in a safe efficient timely and effective manner.
What makes this role unique?
This position will play a key part in the installation of brand new, top of the range equipment as well as maintenance of older equipment. Working across a large geographic area, you will have the autonomy to manage your own workload.
This role will involve:
Carrying out electrical installation work at a variety of Pumping Stations involving a number of different processes.
Carrying out inspection and testing work of installations to check compliance with current Standards and Regulations.
Carrying out maintenance and fault finding complying with current Standards and Regulations.
Providing specialist technical advice where appropriate with up to date technical knowledge, and provide training support for technical trainees.
Complying with the Health and Safety at work regulations and the client's Health and Safety guidelines.
What skills are we looking for?
Ideally, you will be a qualified Electrician having completed a commercial/industrial Indentured Electrical Apprenticeship or BTEC HNC in a combined Mechanical and Electrical subject, or equivalent. You must have the ability to work with minimum supervision and have knowledge of Health and Safety issues relevant to the industry. Previous experience of working in an industrial environment maintaining, installing and fixing 3 phase motors and pumps. Experience with star/delta and DOL starter panels is essential. You must hold a full, UK driver's license to be successful in this position. Please note: This position will require you to work an Out of Hours shift rotation which will include working one weekend in six. You will receive an additional payment for this.
This position will be field based across Hertfordshire with the base location being in Mill Green Sewage Treatment Works, Hatfield. We are offering a salary of up to £31,000 dependant on skills and experience.
