Job Details

Are you a committed and enthusiastic Physics Teacher with the ability to deliver well-paced and informative lessons to mixed ability groups at Key Stages 3&4?
** Physics Teacher to Key Stage 4 (General Science also required)
** Mixed Secondary in St Albans
** Excellent local reputation
** January start or possibly sooner
Hourglass Education are currently assisting a school in St Albans as they look to appoint a Physics teacher on a long term contract, from January 2017 to the end of the academic year. The position could be made permanent for the right candidate.
This mixed 11-18 secondary is based in the St Albans, a unique cathedral city with plenty of History and lush green parks and countryside. Transport links to London are easily accessible and the school is not so far from the M25 and the M1. At the school itself learners make good progress, whilst teaching standards are characterised by good relationships with students and strong behaviour management. The school benefits from having an excellent reputation in the local area.
It is hoped that the successful candidate will bring further success to a school that has seen results gradually rise year-on-year. Strong classroom management skills and the ability to relate to young people are essential, as is a thorough knowledge of the curriculum through Key Stages 3&4. At least two years’ teaching experience is desirable, although outstanding NQTs are also encouraged to apply.
