One of the UK’s most experienced providers of recruitment solutions is arriving in Bridgwater to help businesses tackle skills shortages and boost productivity.
The opening of a new Pertemps office in the historic market town further strengthens the agency’s coverage of the South West as the latest branch will form a link with existing teams in Bristol and Exeter.
It comes at a time when over two in five businesses are expected to grow their workforce in the next 12 months and permanent jobs growth is expected to increase by 27%. However, the research conducted by the CBI and Pertemps also suggests that skills shortages continues to be an issue for the labour market.
Ben Goodrum, South West area manager for Pertemps, said: “Businesses will need to focus on their most valuable asset in 2020 – their people. Whether it’s by taking steps to improve levels of employee engagement, workforce diversity or the inclusivity of their workplaces, firms will need to give their people opportunities to deliver.“This approach will bring real benefits to their bottom line as our research with the CBI suggests that improving people practices could boost productivity by 19%.”
Bridgwater folk in general will also be delighted as Pertemps has one of the most accomplished reputations imaginable for finding permanent, temporary and interim jobs in a wide range of industry sectors.
Pertemps was established in 1961, making it one of the most experienced recruiters in the UK. It is also the largest privately-owned agency in the country.
Ben added: “From the businesses we are talking to, what we are hearing is that most are expecting to create additional jobs over the next 12 months. Employment may be at a record high but we are still in a fantastic position to work with candidates and find them suitable roles in the industries they wish to work in.“We are not the only business to launch in the area in recent months as they share our optimism for the Bridgwater marketplace moving forward. Our investment in Bridgwater is a positive move and one I am sure local residents will welcome.”
