A Guide To Returning To The Workplace

Leaders from some of the largest agencies, including Pertemps, have written to the Secretary of State calling on Downing Street to work in collaboration with our industry to get more people back into work.

The recent study by REC looks at the economic and social impact of the recruitment industry, giving an extensive insight into the role that recruitment firms play.

Key findings from the report reveal that:

  • Every 21 seconds a jobseeker finds a new permanent job through a UK recruitment agency.
  • Every year the recruitment industry supports over 300,000 unemployed people into permanent jobs - more than twice as many as those who find a job through Jobcentre Plus.
  • 280,000 people use temporary work to financially support themselves while they care for their families, helping them to balance work with other responsibilities.
  • Two thirds (63%) of businesses that work with a recruitment agency say it helped them increase the diversity of new recruits.
