Job Title: Shop & Ticket Assistant / Visitor Host
Location: Cardiff City Centre
Pay Rate: £13.45 per hour
Assignment length: Temporary until August 2026
Start Date: ASAP
Working Hours: 18.5 hours per week
Shifts between 9am and 5pm, including weekends and bank holidays


About the Role
 
We are looking for a friendly and proactive Shop & Ticket Assistant / Visitor Host to join the team at a well known historical attraction in Cardiff city centre.

This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a popular tourist destination, helping to deliver an outstanding visitor experience.

You will play a key role in the day to day running of the site, supporting visitors throughout their journey while promoting the attraction’s history, services, and events.

 
Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver excellent customer service, ensuring every visitor has a welcoming and memorable experience.
    • Provide information about the attraction, its history, and available tours.
    • Sell tickets and retail items..
    • Assist with guided tours, adapting to different groups such as schools or international visitors.
    • Support the organisation of group bookings and special events.
    • Maintain clean, safe, and well presented customer areas.
    • Process daily takings and complete required paperwork accurately.
    • Manage and update ticketing systems and membership databases.
    • Handle visitor enquiries in person and over the phone.
    • Assist with stock control, merchandising, and general upkeep of the shop area.

What We’re Looking For

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • A flexible and reliable approach to work.
    • Availability to work weekends, bank holidays, and additional shifts when required.
    • Strong customer service focus with a professional attitude.
    • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
    • An interest in history or tourism is desirable but not essential.
