Job Title:            Store Manager

Location:            Warrington (WA2)

Salary:                 Up to £40,000 (DOE)

Opening Hours: Monday- Friday 09:00- 18:00, Saturday 09:00- 17:00, Sunday 10:00- 16:00

Contract:            Permanent

 

 

Our client, a family-run country feed store and supplier, is looking for a passionate, hands-on Store Manager to lead their equestrian-focused retail store. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced retail leader who enjoys being part of the team whilst driving operational excellence, customer service, and commercial performance.

Reporting to the Business Owner you will be a strong team player, capable of leading by example and creating a positive working environment. A genuine interest in, or understanding of, the equestrian sector would be highly advantageous.

As a Store Manager your duties will be: -

 

  • Lead, motivate, and develop the store team to deliver exceptional customer service.

    • Create a positive and collaborative team culture.

    • Manage employee performance, coaching, training, and development.

    • Conduct regular team meetings and one-to-one reviews.

    • Support recruitment and onboarding activities where required.

    • Ensure the smooth day-to-day running of the store.

    • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and health & safety requirements.

    • Monitor store performance and implement action plans to achieve targets.

    • Deliver outstanding customer service and promote customer loyalty.

    • Build strong relationships with customers and the local equestrian community.

    • Drive sales and profitability through effective management of resources.

    • Support stock control, ordering, and inventory management.

 

The successful Store Manager will have the following skills: - 

 

  • Previous retail management experience.

    • Strong leadership and people management skills.

    • Experience within the equestrian, country retail, outdoor leisure, or specialist retail sectors would be desirable, however, not essential.

    • Hands-on approach with a willingness to support the team.

    • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

    • Team player who leads by example.

    • Approachable, supportive, and engaging.

    • Self-motivated and proactive.

 

Working Pattern

 

  • 5 days out of 7, including weekends on a rota basis (Flexible to a 35 or 40-hour week). 

    • 3 days working as part of the store team on the shop floor.

    • 2 days dedicated to management, administration, planning, and team development activities.
