Urgent requirement for two CMM Operators/ Programmers who are available for a 6 month temporary assignment working for a large automotive component manufacture

CMM Operator / CMM Programmer
6 month interim contract, Double Day Shift Pattern
Location: Telford
Pay: £24- 30 per hour (depending upon experience)

Role:
The Quality Inspector / CMM Operator/ CMM Programmer is responsible for operating CMM and inspection of all finished parts against the design intent. Additionally the Inspector / CMM Operator is responsible for ensuring that products meet customer specifications and that production batch quantities are maintained.
Key Responsibilities:
o Operating CMM machine and recording of results.
o Read, interpret and understand Engineering drawings, standards, geometrical tolerances and surface finishes.
o Ensure that there are detailed Inspection Plans for all parts and that such plans are issue controlled; this includes CMM programs.
o Interpreting the results obtained and convey the results to the Production team.
o Assist investigations into Non-Conformance Reports (NCR), Corrective Action Reports (CARs) and customer complaints.
o Ensure that all inspection equipment, including CMMs, is maintained to a high standard and calibrated as necessary.

Experience required:
You will already have experience of Quality Inspection and Metrology with the ability to operate a CMM to inspect components with complex dimensions and geometry.
o Experience operating medium/large CMM machines (Essential)
o CMM programming from CAD data or modifying programmes (Desirable)
o Knowledge of Metrolog or PC-DMIS and CAD IGES files (Desirable).
o Experience working within a automotive industry (Desirable).
o Able to read and correctly interpret close tolerance engineering drawings and geometric tolerances (GDT).
o Ability to multi-task and prioritise.
o Comfortable working to deadlines and tolerances.
o Experienced working in a fast paced environment.
o Computer literate & good attention to detail.

This is a 6 month interim contract with a start date as soon as possible
Hours of work are 06:00-14:00/14:00-22:00 Monday – Thursday, 06:00-11:00/11:00-16:00 Friday
