We are currently recruiting on behalf of our client for a proactive and organised Production Planner to join their busy manufacturing team in Wednesbury. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys both planning and coordinating production from the office while also being actively involved on the shop floor to ensure production runs efficiently.

This is a hands-on role that requires excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work closely with production teams to meet customer deadlines.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan, organise, and maintain daily and weekly production schedules.

    • Coordinate workloads across multiple machines and production areas to maximise efficiency.

    • Monitor production progress and make adjustments to schedules where required.

    • Liaise with production staff, supervisors, and management to ensure work is completed on time.

    • Spend time on the shop floor monitoring workflow, identifying bottlenecks, and supporting production operations.

    • Ensure materials, equipment, and labour are available to meet production demands.

    • Assist with prioritising urgent orders and responding to changes in customer requirements.

    • Help identify and implement improvements to production planning and manufacturing processes.

    • Maintain accurate production records and update planning systems as required.

    • Support a safe, organised, and efficient working environment.

The Ideal Candidate
  • Previous experience in a production planning, manufacturing, or scheduling role.

    • Experience working within a manufacturing or engineering environment.

    • Confident using Microsoft Office and production planning systems.

    • Strong organisational and problem-solving skills.

    • Able to communicate effectively with both office staff and shop floor teams.

    • Comfortable working in a role that combines office-based planning with hands-on involvement in production.

    • Flexible, reliable, and able to work in a fast-paced environment.

This is a fantastic opportunity to secure a long-term position with a growing company, offering the chance to develop your skills and progress into a permanent role for the right candidate.
