£18.52 – £29.49 per hour | Ongoing work | Regular shift pattern

Pertemps is recruiting experienced HGV Class 1 Drivers on behalf of a leading retail company based in Coventry.

This is an ongoing role delivering to large stores, primarily located on retail parks. You will typically complete two to three drops or collections per shift, driving a box vehicle. Some unloading will be required, although handball is minimal.
 
Shift Pattern
Regular shift patterns are available:

• Tuesday to Saturday
• Sunday to Thursday

Working one weekend day is essential.

Typical start times:

• Days: between 03:30am and 06:00am
• Afternoons: between 12:00pm and 15:00pm

Pay Rates

• Days: £18.52 per hour
• Afternoons: £19.66 per hour
• Overtime and weekend rates: £27.78–£29.49 per hour
• Overtime rates apply after eight hours worked per shift

Your Responsibilities

• Completing local or distance bay deliveries to large retail stores
• Making an average of two to three drops or collections per shift
• Unloading goods when required, with minimal handball
• Delivering goods safely, promptly and professionally
• Completing vehicle checks and all relevant paperwork

Requirements

• Valid HGV Class 1 licence
• Valid Driver CPC and Digital Tachograph Card
• At least six months’ Class 1 driving experience
• Previous RDC experience is desirable
• Comfortable completing relevant paperwork
• Willing to complete a full assessment, including theory and practical assessments and a drug and alcohol test
• Reliable, professional and able to provide good customer service
