Hours: Monday–Friday, 08:30–16:30
Contract: Temporary to Permanent

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Bar / Plate Saw Operative to join our client's busy manufacturing operation in Birmingham.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced saw operative looking for a long-term position, with the opportunity to become permanent following a successful temporary period.

The RoleAs a Bar / Plate Saw Operative, your responsibilities will include:

• Operating bar saw and plate saw machinery safely and efficiently.
  
  
• Cutting metal accurately to customer specifications and required dimensions.
  
  
• Reading and following cutting instructions, drawings and job specifications.
  
  
• Measuring materials and ensuring cuts are completed accurately.
  
  
• Checking finished materials for quality and accuracy.
  
  
• Operating a counterbalance forklift to load and unload stock and materials.
  
  
• Moving and storing metal stock safely around the warehouse and production area.
  
  
• Loading and unloading deliveries using the forklift.
  
  
• Maintaining a clean, safe and organised working environment.
  
  
• Following all company health & safety procedures.
  
  
• Working efficiently to meet production and customer requirements.
  
  

About YouThe successful candidate will have:

• Previous experience operating both bar saw and plate saw machinery.
  
  
• A valid Counterbalance Forklift Licence – this is essential for the role.
  
  
• Previous experience working with metal products/materials.
  
  
• The ability to accurately measure and cut materials to specification.
  
  
• Good attention to detail and a strong focus on quality.
  
  
• A good understanding of workplace health & safety.
  
  
• A reliable and hardworking approach.
  
  
• The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
