We are currently recruiting for Yard Operatives to join a busy logistics and distribution site based in Normanton. This is a physically demanding role, ideal for individuals who enjoy hands-on work and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Please note: This role is based solely outdoors in the yard, regardless of weather conditions. Candidates must be comfortable working outside all year round and be prepared for a role that involves consistent manual handling and hard physical work.
Pay Rates & Shift Information:
As a Yard Operative, your main responsibility will be sorting and processing kegs unloaded from incoming wagons. This is a physically demanding position that requires a proactive approach, a strong work ethic, and the ability to work efficiently in a busy outdoor environment.

- Afternoons: £15.95 per hour | 14:00 – 22:00
- Nights: £16.97 per hour | 22:00 – 06:00
As a Yard Operative, your main responsibility will be sorting and processing kegs unloaded from incoming wagons. This is a physically demanding position that requires a proactive approach, a strong work ethic, and the ability to work efficiently in a busy outdoor environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Sorting kegs unloaded from delivery wagons
- Handballing stock from trailers and containers
- Loading and unloading goods safely and efficiently
- Supporting the smooth flow of operations across the yard
- Moving products to designated locations
- General yard maintenance and housekeeping duties
- Following all site health and safety procedures
- Working towards operational targets in a fast-paced environment
- Reliable and punctual individuals with a strong work ethic
- Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions throughout the year
- Physically fit and capable of carrying out heavy lifting and manual handling duties
- Proactive attitude with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Previous experience within a warehouse, yard, or logistics environment is beneficial but not essential
- Candidates who understand this is a demanding, hands-on role and are prepared for hard work
