Location: Birmingham City Centre 
Pay Rate: £13.45
Shifts: Monday to Saturday, operating between 6:00am and 10:00pm (flexibility required)

About the Role:
We are looking for a friendly, reliable, and customer-focused Catering Assistant / Barista to join our team. This varied role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with people, takes pride in delivering excellent service, and is comfortable working in a fast-paced catering environment.

You will be responsible for preparing and serving refreshments, operating coffee machines and tills, preparing simple food items, and ensuring customers receive a professional and welcoming experience at all times.

Key Responsibilities

• Preparing and serving barista-style coffees, teas, and other beverages.
  
  
• Operating coffee machines, card payment machines, and tills confidently.
  
  
• Delivering outstanding customer service in a customer-facing environment.
  
  
• Preparing simple sandwiches and light food items.
  
  
• Using a Merrychef oven to heat paninis and other hot snacks.
  
  
• Maintaining excellent standards of cleanliness, food safety, and presentation.
  
  
• Setting up and packing away catering equipment daily.
  
  
• Moving equipment between indoor and outdoor service points as required.
  
  
• Following all food safety and allergen regulations.
  
  

About YouThe ideal candidate will have:

• Previous experience as a Barista or Catering Assistant.
  
  
• Excellent communication skills and a strong command of English.
  
  
• A friendly, approachable, and professional personality.
  
  
• Confidence handling customers and working in a customer-facing role.
  
  
• Experience operating coffee machines, card machines, and tills.
  
  
• The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  
  
• Good physical fitness, as the role involves moving catering equipment between locations daily.
  
  
• A flexible approach to working hours between 6:00am and 10:00pm, Monday to Saturday.
  
  

Essential Requirements
✅ Food Safety & Hygiene Level 2 Certificate
✅ Allergen Awareness Training
✅ Previous Barista Experience
✅ Strong Customer Service Skills
