Vehicle Technician

Job Title: Vehicle Technician (Temporary – Potential for Permanent Role)
Location: Arnold, Nottingham
Start Date: Ideally by 6th April 2026


Job Overview:
We are seeking a reliable and skilled Vehicle Technician to join our small team on a temporary basis, with the potential for a permanent position due to upcoming staff changes. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual who can work independently while maintaining high standards of workmanship and customer service.


Key Responsibilities:

• Carry out vehicle inspections, maintenance, and repairs to a high standard
• Complete MOT testing and/or taxi inspections (where qualified)
• Accurately complete written inspection sheets and documentation
• Communicate effectively with customers and team members
• Ensure all work is completed efficiently and within allocated timeframes

Requirements:

• Relevant qualification:
  
  • Level 2 or 3 in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance, or
  • Level 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance
• Previous experience in MOT testing and/or taxi inspections is preferred
• Strong customer service skills with clear communication ability
• Competent in completing written reports and inspection sheets
• Reliable with excellent timekeeping and punctuality
• Ability to work independently and use initiative within a small team
• Experience with plant equipment is highly desirable (but not essential)

Working Hours:

• Minimum: 3 days per week (8 hours per day)
• Maximum: 5 days per week (up to 39 hours)
• Monday to Thursday: 07:45 – 16:15
• Friday: 7-hour working day
• 30-minute unpaid lunch break
• No bank holiday working

Contract Type:

• Temporary initially, with the possibility of becoming a permanent role
