Sewerage Maintenance Operative
Washington
Temporary – 12 weeks
Monday to Friday 0800-1600
Driving Licence: Essential
Pertemps are currently recruiting for a Sewerage Maintenance Operative to join Northumbrian Water on a temporary 12-week assignment.
This is a hands-on role supporting the maintenance of the sewerage network, responding to issues at Customer Houses and helping ensure the network remains safe, reliable and well maintained. You’ll also play an important role in delivering a high level of customer service when working with customers, colleagues and members of the public.
Key Responsibilities
About You
We’re looking for someone who is reliable, safety-conscious and comfortable working in a practical, hands-on environment. You should have good communication skills, a positive attitude and be able to work effectively as part of a team.
A full driving licence is essential as the role involves travelling to different locations. Experience within sewerage, water, utilities, drainage, maintenance or a similar operational environment would be advantageous.

- Respond quickly to failures and issues across the sewerage network and investigate the cause.
- Complete accurate records of work using electronic devices and relevant paperwork.
- Produce CCTV reports using WinCan software in line with company standards.
- Carry out daily vehicle checks and report any defects.
- Work safely at all times, protecting yourself, colleagues, customers and members of the public.
- Work effectively as part of a team to meet agreed targets and performance standards.
- Provide excellent customer service when dealing with internal and external customers.
- Follow company policies, procedures and operational requirements.
