Guillotine Operator / Overhead Crane Operator

Location: Dudley 
Salary: £13 - £14 per hour
Hours: Monday to Friday 8am - 4pm

Pertemps are currently recruiting for an experienced Guillotine Operator / Guillotine Machine Operator with a valid Overhead Crane Licence to join a busy manufacturing and engineering environment.

This is a temp-to-perm opportunity, offering the chance to secure a permanent position following a successful temporary period.

 

The Role

As a Guillotine Operator, you will be responsible for the safe and accurate cutting of sheet metal and other materials, alongside the use of overhead lifting equipment.

Duties will include:

• Operating and setting guillotine machinery
  
  
• Cutting sheet metal, steel and other materials to required sizes
  
  
• Reading measurements, drawings and job specifications
  
  
• Setting machinery and checking dimensions
  
  
• Operating an overhead crane to lift, move and position materials
  
  
• Loading and unloading materials safely
  
  
• Moving raw materials and finished products around the factory
  
  
• Carrying out quality checks and ensuring accurate production
  
  
• Following production schedules and manufacturing instructions
  
  
• Maintaining a clean and safe working environment
  
  
• Complying with Health & Safety procedures and company policies
  
  
• Working as part of a busy production, manufacturing and engineering team
  
  

 

The Ideal Candidate

The successful candidate will ideally have:

• Previous experience as a Guillotine Operator, Guillotine Machine Operator, Sheet Metal Worker or Production Operative
  
  
• Experience operating industrial guillotines within a manufacturing, engineering, fabrication or sheet metal environment
  
  
• A valid Overhead Crane Licence / Overhead Crane Certificate
  
  
• Experience using lifting equipment to safely move heavy materials
  
  
• Ability to work from measurements, specifications and engineering drawings
  
  
• Good attention to detail and accuracy
  
  
• Understanding of sheet metal fabrication and manufacturing processes
  
  
• Good awareness of workplace Health & Safety
  
  
• Reliable, punctual and hardworking attitude
  
  
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
