HGV Team Leader
Location: Sheffield
Salary: £14.00 - £17.00 per hour DOE (£29,000 - £35,000 per annum)
Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent

We are recruiting on behalf of our client for an experienced HGV Team Leader to join a professional removals and logistics operation in Sheffield.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a background in the moving industry who can lead by example, deliver exceptional customer service, and support the day-to-day running of the branch, including deputising for the Operations Manager when required.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and motivate moving teams to deliver a first-class customer experience.

    • Safely oversee domestic, commercial, and office relocations.

    • Brief and debrief crews, ensuring work is completed efficiently and safely.

    • Liaise directly with customers and resolve issues professionally.

    • Ensure compliance with company procedures, Health & Safety requirements, and transport legislation.

    • Support staff development through coaching and on-the-job training.

    • Assist with branch operations and cover management duties in the Operations Manager's absence.

    • Undertake Move Controller duties when required.

What We're Looking For
  • Previous experience within the removals/moving industry.

    • Strong leadership and team management skills.

    • Excellent customer service and communication abilities.

    • Good knowledge of UK geography, Working Time Directive, and O Licence compliance.

    • Experience carrying out risk assessments and implementing Health & Safety procedures.

    • HGV Category C or C+E licence and Driver CPC preferred

    • Flexible approach to work, including occasional overnight stays and weekend working.

    • Professional attitude with strong problem-solving skills.

Hours & Benefits
  • £14.00 - £17.00 per hour depending on experience.

    • Overtime paid after 40 hours.

    • 25 days annual leave plus Bank Holidays (33 days total).

    • 40 hours per week, typically 07:30 - 16:30 with a one-hour lunch break.

    • Working 5 days out of 7 on a Monday to Sunday rota.

    • Rotas generally issued in advance, subject to operational requirements.

    • Weekend working on a rotational basis.

    • Ongoing training and opportunities for career development.
