Our client who is based within the higher education sector, have a temporary role for a Data Services Assistant. This role will be based in Greenock and the rate of pay will be £11.46 per hour. The hours of work are 35hrs per week, Monday to Friday, 8.50am to 4.50pm

Candidates must have a PVG certificate to be considered for this role.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

To process registrations, entries and results for candidates accurately and timeously, in line with SQA regulations.
To ensure accurate validation of data prior to submission to SQA.
To check curriculum and enrolment records to ensure that students are enrolled on the correct complement of subjects for SQA National Qualifications.
To assist in collating evidence for internal and external audit.
To assist in updating the student outcomes for completed students in line with the Scottish Funding Council guidance as directed by the Data Services Manager.
To deal with complex queries relating to the administration of the student records database and particularly those in relation to candidate certification queries.
To update student related data as necessary to improve data quality standards.
To participate in training and development as directed by the Data Services Manager.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

Competent IT skills using Microsoft Office software
Ability to manage time, prioritise tasks and work to strict deadlines
Good verbal and written communication skills
Knowledge of data protection legislation in relation to student records
Experience in dealing with sensitive and confidential information
Experience in managing data electronically
Experience in working to tight deadlines
Experience in multi-tasking and managing priorities in a busy workplace environment
Experience in handling confidential information
Experience in supporting curriculum departments in processing and managing student records
