Process Operator
Location: Chester, Cheshire
Contract Type: Permanent
Salary: £30,775 per annum
Hours: 36 hours per week

Shift Pattern: Rotating shifts, Monday to Wednesday:
  • 6:00am – 6:00pm

    • 6:00pm – 6:00am

Flexibility is required to work rotating shifts as business needs dictate.

The RoleWe are recruiting on behalf of our client for a Process Operator to join their manufacturing team in Chester.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established manufacturing business where full training, PPE, and comprehensive health and safety guidance will be provided.

The successful candidate will be responsible for operating specialist machinery to manufacture products to specification while maintaining high standards of quality, safety, and productivity.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate specialist production machinery safely and efficiently.

    • Load and unload raw materials in line with safe working procedures.

    • Pack, weigh, and label finished products accurately.

    • Carry out routine machine inspections and basic safety checks.

    • Meet daily production targets.

    • Perform quality inspections and report any defects or production concerns.

    • Monitor production processes to ensure operating conditions remain within specification.

    • Complete production records accurately.

    • Remove production waste and dispose of it correctly.

    • Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment.

    • Follow all company policies relating to health and safety, PPE, hygiene, and operational procedures.

About YouTo be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Previous experience operating machinery within a manufacturing or heavy engineering environment (preferred but not essential).

    • A practical, hands-on approach to work.

    • Excellent reliability, punctuality, and attendance.

    • A willingness to learn new skills.

    • Good attention to detail and commitment to quality.

    • The ability to follow instructions and safe working procedures.

    • Strong teamwork skills.

    • Flexibility to work rotating shifts.

    • The ability to work in a warm manufacturing environment while wearing the required PPE.

Security ClearanceThe successful applicant will be required to undergo Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) clearance before commencing employment.
