My client in Ipswich is seeking a Deputy Claims Team Leader.
The team deals with Uninsured Loss Recovery which is carried out under a Legal Expenses Policy. This role involves dealing with losses incurred following non-fault road traffic accidents, instructions for which are provided from 3 major insurance companies.
The role of Deputy Claims Team Leader is to supervise the team on a daily basis, assisting the Team Leader and deputising when absent. To support the Team Leader in developing the team and providing appropriate management information to key stakeholders internally and externally. To deal with all aspects of a reduced case-load in a professional, competent and confidential manner.
Recovering any uninsured losses incurred, but also negotiating liability in line with basic principles of the law of negligence. The role holder will have their own (reduced) case load of files, and will be responsible for progressing these files through letter writing and/or telephone calls to various parties (e.g. insurance companies, clients, third parties and witnesses).
The role involves taking on extra responsibilities above those usually carried out by an Senior Accident Executive. This may include dealing with more challenging and/or large "requirement" clients, and preparing monthly reports for them. Other duties may involve assisting with training less experienced members of the team, dealing with Court files and more complex files (i.e. loss of earning claims for self-employed claimants).
The study of evidence and drafting of documents is required. Cases can become complex and involve the need to issue Court Proceedings.
It is essential that the candidate has experience of uninsured loss recovery ideally with a Insurance background. Ideally seeking a candidate with some experience of Managing a team however the ability and attitude for this level of responsibility will be considered also.
