Electrical Engineer

About the Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Electrical Engineer to join a growing and dynamic engineering consultancy delivering high-profile MEP projects across a diverse range of sectors. 

Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, you will play a key role in the design, delivery, and successful execution of complex building services projects from concept through to completion.

This position offers the opportunity to work on a variety of challenging and rewarding projects while supporting the development of junior engineers and maintaining strong relationships with clients and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the electrical design and delivery of complex MEP projects across multiple building sectors.
  
  
• Produce high-quality technical designs, calculations, specifications, and reports.
  
  
• Ensure designs comply with relevant legislation, regulations, standards, and industry best practice.
  
  
• Collaborate closely with internal teams, clients, contractors, and external stakeholders.
  
  
• Manage project programmes, budgets, resource allocation, and change control processes.
  
  
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and graduates.
  
  
• Participate in client meetings and confidently communicate technical solutions to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  
  
• Support business development activities and contribute to maintaining strong client relationships.
  
  
• Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
  
  

Essential Requirements

• Proven ability to build and manage client relationships effectively.
  
  
• Strong communication skills with the ability to present complex technical information clearly and confidently.
  
  
• Experience mentoring and supporting engineers while contributing to successful project delivery.
  
  
• Strong commercial awareness with experience managing project budgets, schedules, and change control procedures.
  
  
• Chartered Engineer status or actively working towards chartership would be advantageous.
  
  
• Degree or diploma in an engineering discipline (BSc/BEng, HND, or HNC).
  
  Significant experience delivering complex MEP design projects across a range of building types.
  
  Strong understanding of relevant electrical engineering codes, standards, regulations, and best practice.
  
  Proficiency in engineering design software, including Amtech, AutoCAD, or similar packages.
