To my client Corporate Social Responsibility means a commitment to behave ethically and to contribute to the sustainable economic development of the regions in which they do business. It includes protecting the environment, their workforce and the local community. Their responsibility to their operations is to ensure that at local, national and potentially at global scale, they're effective in controlling their known impacts and aspects.
They're committed to meeting the UK's waste management and energy recovery needs.
By 2020 The UK needs to have reduced the amount of waste going into landfill to 35% of 1995 quantities. The profile of the UK's waste management industry has never been higher, the pressures on local authorities and the economy to reduce waste and maximise re-use and recovery have never been greater. They need people who are up for the challenge. They need people with ideas.
