Senior Procurement Officer
I have a fantastic opportunity for a Senior Procurement Officer in Preston. This role is a temporary role for 6 months, Monday to Friday and full time 36.5 hours a week.
Senior Procurement Officer - Job Purpose
You will make a major contribution to the effective operation of the procurement function and to monitor and review the systems and procedures used.
You will contribute to the implementation and monitoring of the Procurement Policy and provide advice to members of the staff on procurement issues. Be able to assist in the design, implementation and maintenance of the Procurement Procedures and Guidance notes. Be able to evaluate, negotiate and implemented the standard terms and conditions of contracts and regularly update the Procurement Procedures and policy to ensure compliance with arising requirements such as audit recommendations, best practice and EU procurement regulations.
You will helping develop the E-Procurement system (presently Parabilis) to increase both suppliers and users.
You will provide professional advice and support in respect of the implications of EC Procurement Legislation and European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) requirements. To input to the tender process and assist in the procurement and negotiation of goods and services for all faculties and services in line with the Procurement Policy and Procedures.
Senior Procurement Officer – Key skills:
You will need to have an extensive background in a procurement Public Sector Environment. You must have a good working knowledge of contract law and EU procurement regulations, have a responsibility for awarding or managing contracts in excess of £180,000, have experience of devolved budgetary environment and must have worked with e-procurement system.
You must be available to start immediately.
