Contentious Probate Solicitor, 4+ PQE, Bedfordshire, Salary up to £55-65,000 (DOE). OVERVIEW:

• You will manage your own engaging caseload of contentious probate matters, advising clients on complex and sensitive issues. Responsibilities include conducting pre-claim investigations, undertaking legal research, and preparing initial case assessments, as well as drafting pleadings, statements of case, and pre-issue documentation for filing with the court.

• You will be expected to attend court hearings and conferences, organise exhibits, documents, evidence, and briefs, and gather relevant information to support cases. The role also involves liaising with third parties, assisting with larger claims handled by other fee earners in the team, and supporting the supervision and development of junior colleagues.

• The successful candidate will bring at least 4 years’ PQE, along with a strong grounding in contentious probate law and the confidence to navigate complex, sensitive matters with care and discretion.

• You will be an excellent communicator, able to build trust with clients during challenging circumstances, and a highly organised professional who can manage competing priorities effectively while consistently delivering a high standard of client service.

• The firm offers a competitive salary and benefits package, including a pension contribution, a financial bonus scheme, and 26 days’ annual leave in addition to bank holidays. There is also an additional performance-based holiday bonus scheme, alongside a comprehensive healthcare plan.
