Lead Production Technician
Location: Oxford
Salary: £35,000 Monday – Friday
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Lead Production Technician to join a cutting-edge technology manufacturing environment within a global engineering business. This is a hands-on leadership role where you will oversee a small production team while remaining actively involved in the assembly, testing, and fault diagnosis of complex electro-mechanical products. You will take ownership of manufacturing order progression, ensuring products are built, tested, and delivered to the highest quality standards.

This is a hands-on leadership role where you will oversee a small production team while remaining actively involved in the assembly, testing, and fault diagnosis of complex electro-mechanical products. You will take ownership of manufacturing order progression, ensuring products are built, tested, and delivered to the highest quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise a team of electro-mechanical assemblers
- Assign and coordinate workloads to meet production targets
- Convert production plans into manufacturing orders with planning teams
- Assemble, test, and troubleshoot electro-mechanical systems using technical documentation
- Diagnose faults down to component level and manage repair/replacement
- Oversee kitting and stock movement using ERP systems (NetSuite)
- Liaise with engineering and test teams to ensure smooth production flow
- Support stock control activities including stock takes and organisation
- Manage and progress returned units (RMA process)
- Contribute to product and process improvements through feedback to engineering
- Experience leading or supervising a production or technical team
- Strong background in electro-mechanical assembly and fault finding
- Experience using ERP systems (NetSuite desirable)
- Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Organised, proactive, and team-focused approach
- Clear communication skills, both written and verbal
