As a result of continued growth & anticipated acquisition, the newly created role of Commercial Analyst has been created within this fast paced business in the FMCG sector. This role enjoys a highly visible position within the business, and reports directly to the Finance & Commercial Director. Working alongside a superb team of colleagues across the business who are specialists in their fields, you will be trained up on the commercials of the business, and will work alongside the finance team and Financial Controller, as well as enjoying frequent exposure to the executive leadership team. The role will have a strong financial thread to it, however is NOT a traditional month end role and so would not be suitable for those looking for a typical management accounting or financial accounting role. This is a broad Commercial role, where you will have responsibility for pricing, contracts, promotions, margins and financials. Working with commercial contracts will form a large part of the role, and you will enjoy support from retained external legal providers. Working closely with the Sales Team and Product Managers; the new business team and Sales Director, and the branding team to deliver great client solutions, you will hold responsibility for ascertaining, identifying and calculating commercially viable deals for the business. In the field of brand acquisition, you will lead on assessing the commercials on proposed new deals and onboarding new clients & customers. Re Existing business – you will have oversight of sales volumes, promotional activity, margins and SOA's (sale out allowances) – calculating & checking sales. With the support of the central finance department you will run the commercials and design the financials for a high number of sales out/marketing campaigns. Pricing – you will be responsible for new products onboarding, pricing, promotion and margin, as well as new brand acquisition projects, holding responsibility for all pricing & financial support work. Strong IT systems skills are essential – very strong excel skills, as well as ERP systems knowledge & capability. An eye for detail, strong commercial nous and awareness; attention to detail. You must come from a graduate background (accountancy, finance, business, law, economics, marketing etc) and may be a newly qualified Accountant, seeking a different, more commercial career path, to that of a typical audit/accounts route. This is a very commercial role, where you will use your financial acumen and broader commercial interest to great effect in supporting the continued growth of this very strong business. Starting salary is flexible (plus benefits package) and will reflect the fact that the first 6 months in the role will be an intensive period of steep learning where you will be mentored and coached into the business, to learn the commercial underpinnings and financials that are in place at present.
